Metropolitan Pipe will be transitioning to all Lead-Free products starting Q2 2013. Please be aware that most Lead-Free or Zero-Lead product is priced anywhere between 20-40% higher than the standard product currently offered.
In many cases, we will not be able to offer the “old style” because the manufacturer no longer makes it.
Products affected include: brass and bronze fittings, valves, faucets, regulators, backflows, pex fittings, stops, mixing valves. If it’s brass/bronze and touches potable water – it must be Lead-Free.
We will NOT be accepting any returns for products that do not meet the new standards, regardless of when they were purchased. This policy takes effect May 1, 2013. Any special order products returned will be subjected to the manufacturer’s return policy.
We will not be quoting any product that does not comply with new standards beginning Q2 2013. Regarding projects that insist on using/quoting “old style” product in an attempt to beat the deadline: Caveat Emptor.
